Faith & Fellowship is a monthly email newsletter to keep you connected to our spiritual family at the Archdiocese of Chicago. We believe in the power of community and this newsletter enables us to extend that community beyond the physical walls of our sacred space. We will share news, updates, and reflections that celebrate our shared faith journey.

Fr. Louis Cameli's scripture reading and prayer for February 2024

From the Prophet Isaiah:

I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness,
I have taken you by the hand and kept you;
I have given you as a covenant to the people,
a light to the nations,
to open the eyes that are blind,
to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon,
from the prison those who sit in darkness.

Isaiah 42:6-7

A prayer of Mother Teresa of Calcutta:

Lord, open our eyes, that we may see you in our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears, that we may hear the cries
of the hungry, the cold, the frightened, the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts, that we may love each other as you love us.
Renew in us your Spirit.
Lord, free us and make us one. Amen

Lenten Resources

“Lent is a new beginning, a path leading to the certain goal of Easter, Christ’s victory over death. This season urgently calls us to conversion. Christians are asked to return to God ‘with all their hearts’ (Joel 2:12), to refuse to settle for mediocrity and grow in friendship with the Lord.” – Pope Francis.

The Archdiocese of Chicago is delighted to provide Catholics and non-Catholics with a wide variety of opportunities to take Pope Francis’ words to heart and begin a Lenten mission of deepening relationships with those around them and with Jesus Christ.
