Honor Those You Love with a Gift in Their Name

Establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor a loved one impacted by the Archdiocese of Chicago, or even to celebrate a special occasion, all the while supporting the work of our mission. Your memorial or tribute gift will be a lasting dedication to your loved one and an impact in the lives of those we serve.

An Example of How It Works

When Lilian’s husband passed away, she wanted to do something that would establish a legacy in his honor. During his lifetime, he often praised the Archdiocese for its work to better his community. So, Lilian decided to make a gift to the Archdiocese in her husband's name using appreciated securities. Not only will her husband's legacy live on at the Archdiocese thanks to the gift and a commemorative plaque, but Lilian also received a federal income tax charitable deduction and eliminated capital gains tax on the securities.
